Left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch has apologized after she and co-host Angie Sullivan erupted in laughter over a sick joke about digging up Charlie Kirk’s corpse and killing him again.
Welch and Sullivan sparked widespread outrage during Thursday’s episode of their podcast, titled “Drinking MAGA Tears,” when Welch read aloud a social media post declaring: “We’re digging up Charlie Kirk and doing it again.”
The pair then put their heads down and laughed for roughly 30 seconds, with Welch eventually responding: “No comment.”

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
After footage of the grotesque exchange went viral and multiple advertisers distanced themselves from the podcast, Welch and Sullivan issued an apology on Saturday.
“On Thursday’s show, we laughed at a joke about Charlie Kirk,” they said in a statement.
“It was an insensitive joke, and we should not have laughed. We regret it, and we apologize.”

Normally, I’d give them grace, but they have consistently said some of the hateful, outrageous things imaginable over the last year without remorse. The pair then turned their apology into an appeal for gun control, announcing that they had donated money to Everytown for Gun Safety, a prominent gun-control advocacy organization.
“Whatever our political differences, there is nothing funny about gun violence,” the statement continued. “We’ve long supported common-sense gun safety reform.”
The apology came after several companies said they were no longer sponsoring or advertising with the podcast.
Cash App said it did “not condone violence of any kind” and was no longer a sponsor, while Chewy, Boll & Branch and Lola Blankets also confirmed they were no longer working with the show.
Welch has repeatedly targeted Kirk and his widow, Erika Kirk, even before the latest controversy.
During a September appearance with Piers Morgan, Welch refused to apologize for attacking Erika Kirk as a “terrible person” and “grifter.”
Welch has also previously said that Charlie Kirk “justified his death.”
