Ohio Republican Senator Jon Husted finally weighed in on President Trump’s cheeky humor on Sunday afternoon, telling Fox News that Trump’s rally comments about his butt are actually a motivator for him to stay in shape. 

Trump has recently joked several times at recent rallies about incumbent Ohio Senator Jon Husted and his ass. The former All-American defensive back for the University of Dayton Flyers’ football team has a body “like a piece of steel,” Trump says.

“It’s like a pile of muscle,” Trump has said about the Senator’s butt, leaving rallygoers cracking up.

While speaking to Fox News’ Aishah Hasnie this afternoon, Husted revealed that Trump’s comments have actually encouraged him to get back in the gym to maintain his assets.

Hasnie played a clip of Trump saying, “It’s never been my thing, to be honest with you, but I looked at his ass, and then I looked at his legs. It’s like a pile of muscle.”

“Everybody wants to know, Senator. What were you thinking when you heard that?” Hasnie asked.

“Well, I have to tell you, when I woke up the next morning after hearing that, I told my wife, ‘I’m like, hey, I think I got to get down to the gym and keep up my reputation,’” Hustead responded, laughing.

“So, I got to keep working out.”

“But look, we’re an athletic family. We try to stay in shape. I had a great joy of playing college football, and my wife’s a marathon runner, and we’re just trying to be a healthy family,” he continued.

Trump went on to talk about Husted’s ass again hours later at his rally in Port Huron, Michigan, but he turned the tables and also highlighted another “beautiful ass.”

“By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before: Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss! stand-up! That’s hard to miss!” he told rapper Nicki Minaj, who was in attendance at the rally.
