President Trump laughs while delivering remarks in Dayton, Ohio – October 3, 2026

The White House on Monday barred Politico from accessing Air Force One to cover the President’s rally in Nebraska, following a prior ban on CNN.

CNN has been replaced by Real America’s Voice in the White House television pool several times during high-profile events and Trump’s trips on Air Force One since last month.

Now, Politico is also being excluded from Air Force One.

In a note, CBS producer Josh Gross wrote to the White House press pool on Monday,

CBS News continues representing the TV networks in the White House out of town travel pool.

Politico was scheduled to be today’s PRINT pooler on the plane, but was blocked from flying AF1 by the administration. The WH was unable to find a replacement.

The Washington Post is the secondary print pooler and you will see updates from them.  As there is no primary print pooler, it’s been agreed that the TV pool notes will be shared simultaneously with the WHCA.

Neither news organization is replacing Politico.

The Washington Post correspondent Katherine Doyle also wrote in a pool report, “The White House has blocked today’s print pooler, Politico, from traveling on Air Force One. Since it was unable to find a replacement, there is no primary print pooler on this trip, and I will be sending reports as the secondary pooler. TV pool is also sending reports to print poolers simultaneously via WHCA.”

According to CNN, in a “show of solidarity,” other outlets in the White House print pool rotation uniformly declined to take Politico’s seat and print pool duties, which include sending notes with updates on the President’s movements to the rest of the media.

This comes after Trump blocked CNN from accessing Air Force One several times since attempting to ban the CNN, MS Now, and Politico from accessing the White House.

U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly granted a temporary restraining order reinstating their access to the White House grounds after the three outlets sued.

In the ongoing lawsuit, the outlets are now asking U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly for a preliminary injunction to extend their access to the White House until the case is resolved, as well as seeking restoration of their access to the President on Air Force One.

Kelly’s temporary restraining order is set to expire if he does not grant an injunction or extension of the TRO during a hearing this Thursday.

The Trump Administration is expected to quickly appeal Kelly’s ruling if he hands the outlets a win.

This is a developing story.
