Cornell University President Michael Kotlikoff has thrown the Cornell fraternity members accused of raping a fellow student under the bus, despite the murky circumstances surrounding the case.

None of the men facing criminal charges and the alleged vicitm’s original signed statement described the encounters as consensual.

In a video statement Saturday, Kotlikoff said “what happened to Jane Doe in 2024 is deeply disturbing.”

“My heart aches when I think of what she experienced,” he continued.

Kotlikoff said the case raised “heartbreaking and troubling issues about sexual assault, dehumanization and aspects of party culture, alcohol and drug use.”

“We as an administration and we as a community must do better,” he added.

Kotlikoff also welcomed New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s decision to place the reopened investigation under far-left Attorney General Letitia James and announced that Cornell’s board would commission an independent outside review.

He described the controversy as a “defining moment” for the university and said Cornell would not wait for the investigations to conclude before taking further action.

However, Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten previously said the accuser’s original six-page sworn statement did not allege that she was drugged against her will or gang-raped.

Instead, Van Houten said her statement described her participation in the drug use and sexual activity as “voluntary, conscious and consensual,” and indicated that sexual activity stopped whenever she asked.

She reportedly reviewed the statement, made more than 20 handwritten corrections and signed it as true and accurate.

More complete police interview transcripts contained conflicting statements, including her assertion that she was certain she had been raped.

The accuser filed a civil lawsuit nearly two years later alleging that seven members of Chi Phi drugged and sexually assaulted her for hours.

All seven men deny wrongdoing and no criminal charges have been filed.

Kotlikoff added that Cornell must use the case to “make meaningful change” and ensure that “nothing like this happens again.”

President Trump, meanwhile, has warned that the frat memebrs “won’t get a fair shake” because of James’s involvement in the case.
