A shocking and wicked alleged murder-suicide occurred this week in Texas after a custody battle concluded.

As KTRK reported, the Houston Police Department responded to a call regarding a shooting on the third floor of a $824,000 home on the 300 block of Terra Reserve at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Witnesses inside the home said they heard gunshots from a 4-year-old child’s room and barged their way in. When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the little girl deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

The toddler’s dad, Aaron Savella, has since identified her as Vivian Savella.

Police discovered that Vivian’s mother had shot herself in the face. She was detained and taken to a local hospital.

Police announced on Thursday that the mom, 35-year-old Cibelle Savella, had passed away on Wednesday.

The horrific incident on Monday occurred just hours after Cibelle Savella lost custody of her daughter.

“There was a custody hearing earlier today that didn’t go well for the mother,” Houston Police Lieutenant Larry Crowson said on Monday.

Here’s background on the conclusion of the custody fight via the New York Post. The custody battle began shortly after Cibelle divorced Aaron:

Savella, originally from Brazil, divorced Aaron in November 2024 after just four years of marriage, leading to a bitter legal battle over their daughter.

In her latest loss, just eight hours before the murder-suicide, the mom was banned from speaking to her daughter in her native Portuguese unless one of the supervisors could speak the language.

The mom was also banned from attending any school performances and extracurricular activities, ordered to pay child support to her ex and cover 50% of any out-of-pocket medical expenses.

It was not immediately clear why Savella lost custody and was hit with such stringent restrictions over her daughter.

Family relatives revealed that little Vivian was supposed to come home to her father that fateful night and were devastated by her loss.

“Vivian was 4 years old. She was loved without limit by her father, Aaron, and by everyone whose life she touched,” they said in remarks obtained by the Post. “There are no words for what has been taken from us.”

“Aaron did everything the law asks of a parent who is trying to protect his child,” they continued. “He trusted the courts.”

“He followed every order. He waited for the process to work. On Tuesday, a judge placed Vivian in his primary care, and she was supposed to come home to him that evening. She never did.”
