Outgoing Republican Rep. Nancy Mace has launched a new YouTube show as she prepares for life after Congress.
The South Carolina congresswoman debuted “Get Maced,” a political and current-affairs program, while publicly showing off several tattoos covering both of her arms.
Mace, 48, revealed earlier this year that she had received nine tattoos during a difficult period in her personal and professional life.
This included the breaking off of her engagement and the departure of several members of her congressional staff.
She has described the tattoos as a means of reclaiming her identity following traumatic experiences.
“So my story is I am totally broken,” Mace said earlier this year.
“I have PTSD over what I’ve been through.”

Mace has spoken publicly about being the victim of rape, as well as difficulties in her relationship with her father.
Until recently, she had largely kept the tattoos covered during public appearances.
Her new show features Mace wearing sleeveless outfits that reveal much of the artwork, which includes the word “Justice,” a lion, a large bird and several other designs.
The launch comes as Mace approaches the end of her time in Congress following an unsuccessful campaign for governor of South Carolina.
Mace finished fifth in the Republican primary, while state Attorney General Alan Wilson went on to secure the GOP nomination.
Following the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham last month, Mace briefly considered entering the race for his Senate seat before deciding against it.
She has since endorsed fellow Republican Rep. Ralph Norman.
Mace has recently stepped up her criticism of the growing influence of Islam in American politics, describing Muslim politicians as a “Trojan horse.”
“Every single Muslim holding public office in America is a Trojan horse, and a threat to both national security and our republic,” she said just last week.
“We refuse to be silent.”
Watch this Imam, in Alabama of all places, say ‘…Muslims must be ready to sacrifice their lives through jihad in order to establish ‘the religion of Allah’ in the United States…’
Islam must be confronted and Islam must be removed from civil society in the US.…

This is absolutely disgusting and dangerous. Republicans must denounce this blatant Islamophobia.

Her current term in the House ends in January. She has previously said she will return to the private sector.
