Republican Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno spoke to reporters on Tuesday after his ex-son-in-law, Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), accidentally released a nude photo of Moreno’s granddaughter over the weekend amid allegations that Miller assaulted his ex-wife.

Miller is accused of assaulting his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, the daughter of Senator Bernie Moreno, and their two-year-old daughter. Miller allegedly held a gun to Emily Moreno’s head and broke their daughter’s collarbone.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Miller has denied the allegations and vowed to remain in his reelection race.

Senator Moreno called for Miller to resign from Congress, saying he’s put the family through “pure hell.”

“He is a danger to my daughter, and I hold my breath every minute he has custody of my granddaughter,” Moreno said. “If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them. He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake.”

Adding to the controversy, Miller’s attorney, Aaron Minc, on Tuesday took the blame for accidentally releasing a photo of Emily Moreno and Miller’s nude two-year-old daughter in a trove of documents Miller released on Sunday, according to Politico.

The folder of documents, which Minc says “exonerates Mr. Miller from the false allegations he is accused of,” was posted on social media by Miller on Sunday in an attempt to defend himself against the claims of abuse.

A lawyer for Emily Moreno said one of the photos in the documents “could be considered Child Sexual Abuse Material.” Moreno’s attorney, Subodh Chandra, wrote in a letter to Aaron Minc, “Yesterday, you enabled your client, Congressman Max Miller, to share and disseminate to the public an electronic Dropbox folder of materials. This was in conjunction with a video rant about our client, Emily Moreno, that Miller posted on X.”

“The first time Miller shared the folder, it contained private images of Miller and Ms. Moreno’s daughter and left her name unredacted. At least one of those images could be considered Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) because the daughter’s genitals appear to be visible,” Chandra added, noting that 204,000 people viewed the post with a link to the folder.

Minc said in a statement on Tuesday that he is “solely responsible” for the photo, adding, “I was the only person responsible for assembling, creating, reviewing, adding, deleting, redacting, or making any changes to the information and files that were in this folder.” He described the incident as “completely unintentional and a mistake.” He also told Politico that “a two-year-old girl had her shirt off,” and the claim of “genitals” in the photo is “a deliberately false, sensationalized, and disgusting characterization.”

Minc further decried Moreno for using the incident “as a means to try to gain leverage in court and distract from the underlying evidence that exonerates Mr. Miller from the false allegations he is accused of.”

Senator Bernie Moreno spoke to reporters on Capitol Hill following Minc’s admission, saying that Minc had not apologized for the mistake and reiterating calls for Miller to resign from Congress and seek “serious help.”

“I hope you never have to understand what my daughter’s been through, what my daughter’s going through, what my wife is going through, my two other, my two boys and my other daughter are going through. This is truly the seventh level of hell. This has been a horrific experience for my entire family,” Moreno said, noting that his daughter is still raising a child with Miller.

“My daughter lives in constant fear of this man, not like something that’s existential, but deeply in her heart, she fears what this guy is capable of. You can’t even you can’t fathom what that makes me feel like when the dad’s number one job is to protect your kids, and to have this whole thing out in the public like this is not what I wanted to do. It’s not what my daughter wanted to do.”

“On Sunday, when he went out and did what he did, including releasing photos of my granddaughter completely naked that now you have hundreds of thousands of psychotic human beings that have that, and to say ‘oops’ is grotesque,” Moreno added.

“My personal opinion is that this is a felony, and that every single human being that touched that photo and transmitted it electronically should go to jail because it is illegal to do that. This has been brutal beyond comprehension, and if there’s any minimum standard for being an elected official, as I said, he fails to meet that minimum basic standard.”
