A biological male who identifies as a woman and has been dominating France’s second-tier women’s basketball league is now openly angling for a spot in the WNBA.
Julie Tétart (born male, transitioned after years of playing men’s basketball) told OutKick via Instagram direct messages that he would accept an invitation from the Women’s National Basketball Association.
“If they contact me, I won’t say no. But you have to be realistic: I’m old, and there are far better players than me!” the 34-year-old said.
The French Basketball Federation’s official leaderboard shows Tétart leading the 2025–2026 Ligue Féminine 2 season with 21.2 points and a staggering 20.2 rebounds per game across 25 appearances. Tétart also led the division in overall efficiency and shooting percentage.
Those are not ordinary statistics. They are numbers that should force every WNBA executive, coach and player to answer a question the league would apparently prefer to keep buried beneath slogans about “belonging” and “inclusion.”
The French federation previously described Tétart’s production as “never seen” in the division after the center recorded 24 points and 23 rebounds while shooting a perfect 11-for-11 from the floor.
The federation also noted that Tétart returned to basketball following transition-related surgery and quickly became the league’s leading scorer and rebounder.

More from Fox News:
Tétart’s season was so dominant that French media was stunned when the shredded center didn’t win league MVP honors. The season was still good enough to win Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Domestic Player of the Year.
Woke WNBA fans swear there’s no clear and present trans danger to biological women. They swear this is some sort of delusion cooked up by MAGA.
Meanwhile, Tétart destroyed Ligue 2 so badly that there were collusion allegations being made against league captains and coaches who voted on the MVP award.
Those same voters are alleged to have excluded 43-year-old trans player Aurore Pautou (14.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG) from winning postseason awards. French trans groups are furious. “Despite top-tier athletic performance on the court during the 2025/2026 season by Julie and Aurore, voters for the Ligue 2 Féminine de Basket Awards deliberately decided not to grant them any awards,” activist group TRANSpire cried on Instagram.
The comments come amid a live controversy in the WNBA itself. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham recently stated the obvious: young girls and women should not have to compete against biological males, calling it common sense and invoking the purpose of Title IX.
That triggered the usual activist backlash, counter-protests, and statements from coaches pushing “inclusion” over fairness. No publicly known transgender woman (biological male) has yet played in the WNBA, and the league’s collective bargaining agreement states that only players who are women are eligible.
Under the Trump administration, the broader policy direction has been clear: protecting women’s sports categories from male intrusion.
