A possible terrorist attack has unfolded in New York City this morning, and the issue of immigration is likely at the center of it.

The attack occurred at roughly 8:30 AM.

26 Federal Plaza is the Jacob K. Javits Federal Office Building. This building houses three important federal agencies related to immigration: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR / Immigration Court), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Independent journalist Oliya Scootercaster obtained exclusive video of the footage showing the aftermath of the incident, inclduign the detainment of a suspect.

The FBI released the following statement to Fox News’s Bill Melugin, confirming a suspect had been arrested:

This morning, an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza. The individual has been taken into custody, and the FBI New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the incident.

NYPD also told FOX News that there was a “found firearm” in relation to this event, but couldn’t confirm if it was found on the suspect.

Per ABC 7 New York, police say the person is believed to be a protester with a history of anti-ICE activity.

The FBI and the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force are now investigating that incident.
