President Trump on Monday recommended to South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster that Lindsey Graham’s sister Darline Graham Nordone to serve as interim Senator.
Governor McMaster is going to announce Lindsey Graham’s replacement at 4 pm ET on Monday.
“I recommended, to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham’s wonderful sister, Darline, to serve as interim Senator from the Great State of South Carolina. This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly!” Trump said on Truth Social.
Lindsey Graham passed away on Saturday night after he experienced chest pains.
He was 71 years old.
The DC Medical Examiner released its preliminary findings after Lindsey Graham’s death on Sunday.
“The preliminary examination findings were: Aortic Dissection due to Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease,” Graham’s office said.
“The death certificate will be PENDING until all the toxicological and microscopic testing are finalized and at that point the death certificate will be updated to reflect the cause of death and appropriately classify the manner of death.”
