Farage has been under relentless investigations

Under multiple, relentless parliamentary investigations and harassed by some news outlets, Reform UK leader – and favorite to be the next Prime Minister – Nigel Farage has announced his resignation as the MP for Clacton.

But he also announced that he will participate in the ‘people versus the establishment’ by-election.

GB News reported:

“Addressing the nation with a live statement, Mr. Farage said: ‘I could go out and try and make some real big money. I could go to the USA where I’ve got plenty of offers.

‘And then I thought, why should I be judged today or in the future by Sky News or the media? Why should they be the people that decide my fate when as I repeat I’ve done nothing wrong?’

‘I’ve thought about it hard and I’ve decided about it today, today I will resign as a Member of Parliament for Clacton-on-Sea, thereby forcing a by-election which would happen I hope in short order’.”

BBC reported:

“Mr Farage has faced questions over a large amount of money given to him before his election, in early 2024, by a billionaire Reform UK donor, which he had not declared.

The Sunday Times newspaper has also reported he had not declared benefits, including staff and security, given to him from a different political supporter.

Members of Parliament are supposed to register any “gifts, benefits or hospitality” worth over £300.

New MPs must register gifts they received 12 months before becoming an MP.”

Farage’s party colleague Suella Braverman, former Home Secretary, went out in defense of Farage.
