The question is not whether or not religion will influence our education system. The question is which religion will influence our education system.
Nature hates a void. This nation was founded on the Christian ethic.
Founding Father John Adams said, “Because We have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by morality and Religion. Avarice, Ambition, Revenge or Gallantry, would break the strongest Cords of our Constitution as a Whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
George Washington in his farewell address to the nation said, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports.”
John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, said, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty… of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”
Samuel Adams said, “Religion and good morals are the only solid foundation of public liberty and happiness.”
The list could go on and on. The Christian worldview was foundational to the creation of the United States.
As the left has worked tirelessly to remove Christianity from every aspect of public life, the religion of the radical left has taken its place. Transgender propaganda, pornographic material, anti-American “history,” and moral relativism have infected our public education system.
Nature hates a vacuum, when Christianity is removed, something else will always take its place.
Texas understands that.
The Gateway Pundit reported,
In a significant move to restore the teachings of American heritage, the Republican-controlled Texas State Board of Education approved a new required reading list that mandates the inclusion of passages from the Bible for public school students across all grade levels.
The final vote passed 9-5 along party lines on Friday.
This makes Texas the first state in the nation to establish a statewide mandated literary program that includes specific Bible excerpts alongside classic works of literature.
There are more than five million public school students in the state.
The new requirements build directly on House Bill 1605, passed by the Texas Legislature in 2023.
That law directed the State Board of Education to identify at least one required literary work for every grade level as part of efforts to strengthen reading instruction and provide high-quality, transparent instructional materials.
The Board went further, creating a comprehensive list of roughly 200 texts that schools must assign to students.
Under existing Texas law, parents will be able to request alternative assignments if a required text conflicts with their family’s beliefs.
As we near our nation’s 250th now is the perfect time to rededicate ourselves to the ethic which built the West.
God bless Texas.
