An ‘armed and dangerous’ active shooter has opened fire in an upscale Montreal area, with heavy police presence.
Police are advising people to shelter in place.

Daily News reported:
“Locals were told to take cover as shots rang out around 11.35am in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) said.
Terrifying footage shared online showed a shattered window at a high-rise building as armed police officers rushed to the scene.”

Images uploaded to social media show police officers rush into a local grocery store in the area, as two people lay on the ground outside.
“The area is known for its high levels of foot traffic with several residential building and grocery stores around.
‘We are asking everyone to avoid the sector. The situation is not under control’, Jean-Pierre Brabant, a spokesperson with Montreal police, said.”
There is an active shooter situation in the Montreal neighborhood of Cote Des Neiges at the Westbury project.

Shots have reportedly been fired in Montreal’s Triangle neighbourhood.
According to preliminary information, it appears that a police officer may have been shot. A large police presence is currently on scene.
