President Trump announced on Tuesday that Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) director Bill Pulte will step in as acting Director of National Intelligence on Friday, June 19.

Pulti was originally expected to take over after outgoing DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s previously announced June 30 departure.

However, Trump said in a statement on Truth Social that Pulte is currently “working closely with Tulsi Gabbard” and “will be taking over as Acting Director of National Intelligence on Friday, June 19th.”

“He will remain as Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and Chairman of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac,” Trump said.

This comes amid backlash from lawmakers and Deep State hacks.

Last week, 28 Deep State hacks released a letter declaring their hatred for Acting DNI Bill Pulte, just like the 51 who penned a fraudulent letter, alleging that Hunter Biden’s laptop was a Russian op.

“The appointment of an ill-suited Acting Director could materially harm U.S. national security. Any prioritization of political considerations over strategic imperatives cedes advantage to our adversaries. So do errors of judgment arising from insufficient expertise,” the letter read. “Our men and women in uniform rely upon the quality and integrity of intelligence gathered and analyzed by the eighteen agencies under the Director’s jurisdiction. With U.S. forces engaged in active operations abroad, there is no margin for error.”

Multiple Republican Senators, including RINO Senate Majority Leader John Thune, have already expressed their opposition, arguing that Pulte is not qualified for the job.

Last week, RINO Senators Cassidy, Collins, and Murkowski voted for a Democrat sponsored amendment that would bar a Senate-confirmed head of another department from serving as Acting DNI.

Pulte is expected to make waves upon taking the mantle of the highest-ranking Intelligence Community official.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump has said he wants to reduce the size of the federal intel agencies and is already urging Pulte to “start the process” of firing a “large number” of Deep State Intel Community members, according to reports.
