One of the Republican Party’s rising stars completely humiliated a woke, pro-open borders witness during a congressional hearing today with one question.

The House Oversight Committee Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses Subcommittee held a hearing titled “Amnesty and Chaos: Abuse of U.S. Immigration Policy.”

Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX), the Task Force Chairman, expertly outlined during his opening statement how radical left groups have used frivolous lawsuits to hamstring legitimate U.S. immigration enforcement.

This has rendered laws ineffectual and subverted the will of the American people.

Chris Newman, who serves as the General Counsel and Legal Director for the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON), appeared as an apologist for the violent illegal aliens and leftist groups ripping America apart.

He also consistently bashed the Trump Administration for its commonsense immigration policies, which have resulted in the most secure Southern border in American history.

Gill quickly had enough of Newsom’s nonsense and had just one simple inquiry: Is it a good thing that President Trump secured the border?

Newman had no clue how to respond and sat silent for about 10 seconds. Then he tried to attack Stephen Miller, but Gill cut him off.

Gill again tried to get Newman to answer the simple question. This time, he claimed the border was already secure, even under the Biden administration.

The Texas congressman could not believe what he heard because even Democrats know that is a lie.

GILL: Mr. Newman, is it a good thing that President Trump secured the border?

(long silence)

NEWMAN: I, I, think that Stephen Miller has squandered what used to be a signature issue…

GILL: I’m asking you if it is a good thing that our border is secure.

NEWMAN: I think our border has been secure for quite some time.

GILL: Our border was secure during the Biden administration?

NEWMAN: Yes, sir.
