An 18-year-old suspect has been taken into custody in the mass shooting at an unsanctioned party near Arcadia Lake in Edmond, Oklahoma, that left one young woman dead and 22 others injured.

Edmond police announced Thursday that Jaylan Amhad Davis, 18, of Oklahoma City, turned himself in and was arrested in connection with the deadly May 3 mass shooting at Spring Creek Park Campground in Lake Arcadia.

Davis now faces a felony murder charge.

According to authorities, the chaos erupted around 9 p.m. Sunday when an argument between two women escalated into a violent clash involving rival gangs.

More than 80 rounds were fired into the large crowd of teens and young adults gathered at the lakeside location.

Avianna Smith-Gray, 18, was killed.

The remaining 22 victims suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals.

The fighting even reportedly continued at the hospital, prompting Integris Hospital to go on lockdown shortly after the mass shooting.

The party had been promoted on social media and drew a large crowd to the popular campground area about 15 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

Davis is the sole suspect identified so far, but the investigation remains active.

Witnesses initially reported at least two suspects fleeing into the woods after the shooting.

One of them was reported to have dreadlocks, which fits with Davis’ mugshot.
