A Mexican national with an immigration detainer hold allegedly murdered a man in a North Carolina nightclub. A second person was also greatly injured and ended up in the hospital with serious injuries.

Giovanny Hernandez-Jaramillo allegedly shot 33-year-old Jorge Alber Dorantes-Carranz while injuring another person. He then fled the area.

Although the shooting death happened on March 22nd, Hernandez-Jaramillo was not caught until April 3rd in Houston, Texas.

Raleigh police charged him this past Thursday with assault with a deadly weapon with the intention to kill and with murder.

He had his first court appearance on Friday and is being held without bond. Court records revealed that he is a Mexican citizen and is being held on an immigration detainer.

Authorities also arrested Martha Renee Jones. She was considered an accessory after the fact. Jones helped facilitate Hernandez-Jaramillo’s escape from the area. She posted bond and has an electronic monitoring device.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The man accused of a deadly shooting at a Raleigh nightclub in March has made his first appearance in court Friday, according to court records.

35-year-old Giovanny Hernandez-Jaramillo was captured by the Raleigh Police Department and other law enforcement officers on April 3 in Houston.

He was formally charged on Thursday by Raleigh police with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury when he returned to Raleigh.
