After less than three months in office, Virginians are expressing displeasure with Virginia’s Democrat Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s tenure thus far.

A Washington Post–George Mason University Schar School poll shows Spanberger with the highest disapproval rating at this point in her term than any Governor, from either party, since 1994.

Under Spanberger’s leadership, Democrats have championed a slew of leftist policies.

New taxes have been proposed to increase revenue, including levies on everything from car ownership to dog walking.

They are moving to require schools to teach that January 6th was an ‘insurrection and pushing sweeping new gun control laws.

Despite campaigning on affordability, lawmakers are already trying to triple their own pay.

In February, Spanberger signed legislation sending a radical congressional redistricting referendum to Virginia voters that would upend the commonwealth’s electoral landscape and gerrymander Republicans out of existence.

Even as crime increases in the state, under Spanberger, Democrats introduced House Bill 863 (HB 863), which seeks to remove mandatory minimum prison sentences for a slew of serious offenses, including rape, manslaughter, child pornography possession and distribution, assault on law enforcement officers, and repeat violent felonies.

In March, Anibal Armando Chavarria Muy, an illegal alien from Guatemala, was arrested for the stabbing death of a man in Fairfax County, VA.

In February, Stephanie Minter was murdered at a bus stop in February.  An illegal alien from Sierra Leone was charged with her killing.

Despite getting what they voted for, Virginians seem to be having buyer’s remorse.

Per Fox News:

Forty-six percent of Virginians disapprove of her job performance, while 47% approve. Compared to Virginia governors from both sides of the aisle since 1994, Spanberger has the highest disapproval rating at this point in her term.

In contrast, predecessor Gov. Glenn Youngkin saw a 54-39 job approval at this point in his term, with the highest favorability going to Democrat Mark Warner – now Virginia’s senior senator – with a 78-20 rating.

George Mason University Policy & Government Dean Mark Rozell, a co-sponsor of the poll, told the Post that while some bit of political polarization is “baked in,” it was “unusual” to see such a result for Spanberger this early in her term after a campaign on a “centrist image.”
