Excerpt from report by Bangladeshi site RTV:

According to CCTV footage and witness accounts, the conflict began last Tuesday (March 31). Joachin reportedly failed to withdraw money from the ATM inside the gas station shop and demanded cash from the cashier, Nilufar Yasmin. When she explained that she was not responsible for the ATM machine, Joachin left in a rage, only to return early Thursday morning.

At 7:14 AM on Thursday, Joachin began by smashing the windshield of Nilufar’s personal car parked in front of the store with a hammer. When Nilufar stepped outside to intervene, Joachin shouted, “Give me my money,” and struck her violently in the head with the hammer.

…Nilufar Yasmin hailed from the Kushakhali Union of Chandraganj Upazila in Lakshmipur district, Bangladesh. She had joined the convenience store as a cashier just three months ago. She is survived by two daughters, aged 16 and 20.

Statement by the Department of Homeland Security:

Haitian Illegal Alien Violently Kills Innocent Mother by Repeatedly Hitting Her with a Hammer Outside Gas Station in Fort Myers

Haitian illegal alien with final order of removal from 2022 was granted temporary protected status by the Biden administration

Today, the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) assisted the Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD) in tracking down and arresting Rolbert Joachim—a Haitian illegal alien accused of bludgeoning an innocent mother to death with a hammer, hitting her several times in the head, at a gas station in Florida.

On April 3, FMPD responded to an emergency at a local gas station. Surveillance footage showed that Joachim smashed the victim’s car windshield, approached her, and repeatedly hit her in the head with a hammer—violently killing her in broad daylight. The woman was reportedly a store clerk inside the gas station.

FMPD requested the assistance of ICE, and together they successfully located the Haitian illegal alien on Mango Street in Fort Myers.

Joachim first entered the U.S. in August 2022 and was released into the country under the Biden administration. A federal judge issued a final order of removal against him in 2022, but the Biden administration granted him Temporary Protected Status which expired in 2024.

“This illegal alien barbarically hit this woman in the head multiple times with a hammer. This heinous murderer was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did the Biden administration release him into the country, but they then gave him Temporary Protected Status. Their reckless immigration policies cost this woman her life,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “The arrest of this criminal is an example of how ICE and local authorities can work together to swiftly bring criminals to justice and make our communities safer.”

ICE has lodged a detainer against Joachim, and he will be deported regardless of the outcome of this case.
