“I’m told by law enforcement source that the suspected shooter at the Michigan synagogue was armed with a rifle, rammed a vehicle into the building and was killed in shootout w/ armed security. I’m told vehicle caught on fire and the suspect’s body is burned. No ID yet,” Fox News reporter Bill Melugin said.

A driver plowed a vehicle into a synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, and opened fire on Thursday afternoon.
This is an active shooter situation.
According to reports, the driver crashed into Temple Israel and opened fire at around 1 pm ET.
Casualties are unknown.
Several police vehicles and ambulances are on the scene.

The Oakland County Sheriff said the security at Temple Israel engaged the gunman.
The unidentified gunman is reportedly dead.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says law enforcement is responding to an “active shooter situation” at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, on Thursday afternoon.
Temple Israel is located on 5725 Walnut Lake Road and, according to its website, is the largest Reform synagogue in the United States.
West Bloomfield police, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police are at the scene. Emergency personnel are working to clear Temple Israel.
The public is asked to avoid the area. West Bloomfield High School, West Bloomfield Middle School, Doherty Elementary School and Bloomfield Hills Schools are currently in secure mode.
The Jewish Federation of Detroit is asking all Jewish organizations to go into “lockout protocol.”
FBI Director Kash Patel said FBI agents are on the scene in Michigan.
“FBI personnel are on the scene with partners in Michigan and responding to the apparent vehicle ramming and active shooter situation out of Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan,” Kash Patel said.
