A horrifying suicide occurred at arguably America’s most famous Italian fast food restaurant last week.
The Smoking Gun reported on Tuesday that a male cook employed at a Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Olive Garden decided to kill himself for unknown reasons on January 30 at the restaurant.
The Smoking Gun obtained audio from the Lycoming County fire and EMS service, which explained in two separate dispatches exactly how the cook killed himself. The details are pretty gruesome.
“I don’t have a lot of details, lot of people screaming, some kind of a burn victim.” The operator said in the first dispatch.
In a next dispatch, the operator revealed that the man stripped his clothes off and “went headfirst into the fryers.”
The operator added that the Pennsylvania State Police were responding to the incident.

The Smoking Gun reported that panicked co-workers desperately tried to intervene to stop the man from taking his own life, with some getting burned in the process.
The outlet also reveals that a second unit was sent to the restaurant to treat a female worker who suffered minor burns.
The woman was injured as she tried to stop the male cook from torching himself even more.
The ambulance crew rushed the Olive Garden worker to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Lauren Lesher, a Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson, confirmed to The Smoking Gun that the male cook committed suicide but refused to share more details.
“The incident was a suicide attempt and out of respect for the individual and their family, we do not release information,” she said.
The New York Post reported that the Olive Garden was shut down for several days, but has since reopened.
