From Mar-a-Lago to Moscow, all agree peace has never been closer.

After yesterday’s talks between Donald J. Trump and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida, optimism about the process has taken hold in the US and in Russia.

The Kremlin has stated that it agrees with Trump’s assessment that the peace process is in its ‘final stage’.

As for Zelensky, he has revealed the US offered security guarantees to Kiev for a period of 15 years.

Daily Mail reported:

“Trump on Sunday celebrated the success of his highly anticipated peace talks with Zelensky, revealing they are ‘very close’ to striking an agreement on all but ‘one or two thorny issues’.”

While middle ground on some of the most difficult issues is still elusive, including future ownership of the Donbas region, Ukrainian territory which it has been fighting to protect throughout the war.

“Asked by journalists on Monday if Moscow agreed with Trump’s optimistic assessment following his talks with the Ukrainian President, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: ‘Of course’.”
