House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) subpoenaed former Special Counsel Jack Smith for a closed-door deposition on December 17.

Chairman Jordan also subpoenaed Jack Smith for documents related to his lawfare investigation into Trump.

“The Committee on the Judiciary is continuing to conduct oversight of the operations of the Office of Special Counsel you led—specifically, your team’s prosecutions of President Donald J. Trump and his co-defendants. Due to your service as Special Counsel, the Committee believes that you possess information that is vital to its oversight of this matter,” Jim Jordan said in a letter to Jack Smith.

“Based upon communications with your counsel, we understand that you are available to testify at a deposition on December 17, 2025. Accordingly, please find enclosed a testimonial subpoena for a deposition at 10:00 a.m. on December 17, 2025 and a document subpoena for the requested materials to be produced to the Committee by December 12, 2025,” Jordan said in a letter obtained by The Gateway Pundit.

Fox News reported:

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, subpoenaed former special counsel Jack Smith on Wednesday for a deposition, escalating their investigation into one of President Donald Trump’s top political foes.

Jordan directed Smith to appear before the committee on Dec. 17, according to a copy of the subpoena reviewed by Fox News Digital.

“Due to your service as Special Counsel, the Committee believes that you possess information that is vital to its oversight of this matter,” Jordan wrote in a letter accompanying his request.

The forthcoming deposition, which is set to take place behind closed doors, comes as House and Senate Republicans have zeroed in on Smith’s election-related investigation of Trump, describing it as a scandal that unnecessarily swept up hundreds of Republican lawmakers, GOP entities, Trump allies and media outlets as part of the probe.
