France’s native population is once again reeling after last week a young mother in the town of La Rochelle was left clinging to life after being repeatedly stabbed by an African migrant living in her apartment building.
The brutal attack unfolded in the late afternoon in the working-class district of Mireuil, where residents say social tensions have risen sharply in recent years as mass migration reshapes once-quiet, culturally and ethnically homogenous neighborhoods.
According to local reports, an argument in a stairwell suddenly escalated when a 43-year-old migrant, originally from the Ivory Coast, allegedly lunged at the woman with a knife.
The victim, just 33 years old, suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and face, leaving her in critical condition and requiring emergency transport to a hospital in Poitiers.
Police say the young mother was discovered bleeding profusely on the landing outside her apartment, where neighbors attempted to help her before paramedics arrived.
Authorities apprehended the suspect, a few hours later, after a rapid neighborhood investigation identified him as the attacker.
Prosecutors revealed the man was known to have psychiatric issues—like many newly arrived military-aged male migrants—but had no prior criminal record on file, raising deeper questions about screening and monitoring failures.
Investigators have opened a case for attempted homicide, and the city’s Territorial Crime Division is now leading the probe.
The assault comes amid a broader debate in France—and throughout Western Europe—about worsening violence against women, particularly in areas heavily impacted by large-scale immigration from the Third World.
The crime statistics speak for themselves: foreign-born men are vastly overrepresented in violent offenses targeting women, especially in major urban regions like Île-de-France.
“83% of victims of sexual violence in Île-de-France transport are French, while 61% of those accused of these acts are foreign. The problem is not men, the problem is mass immigration,” French MEP Marion Maréchal, the niece of Marine Le Pen, wrote.
Feminist organizations like Collectif Némésis have echoed the warning, rejecting establishment proposals for “women-only train cars” as nothing more than a cosmetic fix that avoids addressing the underlying immigration surge, and what it inevitably leads to.
They argue that France is witnessing the consequences of a decade of uncontrolled migration and integration collapse—issues long downplayed by establishment politicians and legacy media.
The La Rochelle attack is the latest in a string of violent incidents involving migrants, fueling growing public anger and deepening distrust in the government’s promises of safety and “living together.”
While officials urge calm and stress that investigations are ongoing, residents of cities like La Rochelle say they no longer recognize their own neighborhoods.
France’s political class continues to insist the system is working—but for many ordinary citizens, the evidence is now literally on their doorstep.
