All over Europe, voters have turned their backs on the Globalist establishment and its failed, crippling policies.

In Romania, it wasn’t any different. A right-wing independent candidate shot to victory in the first round of the Presidential elections to the shock and dismay if its mainstream political forces, starting with the leftist Prime Minister who came in third and is out of the runoff vote.

In the aftermath of the surprising result, a villain was sought who can be blamed by the fact that voters do not want the usual political solutions – and they found one: social media platform TikTok.

A top MEP is demanding that TikTok’s chief executive be summoned to appear before the European Parliament to answer questions about the platform’s role in Sunday’s Romanian presidential election.

‘Researchers’ are warning of ‘covert activity’ on thousands of fake accounts leading up to the vote.

Politico reported:

“The first-round victory of the ultranationalist and pro-Russian Călin Georgescu has triggered shockwaves about the political trajectory of the EU and NATO country, with many concerns focused on how a TikTok campaign managed to propel an unknown candidate from obscurity. A second-round will be held on Dec. 8.

‘We call on the CEO of TikTok to come to speak in this house and to ensure his platform conducted to no infringement under the DSA’, said Valérie Hayer, head of the liberal Renew Europe group, told a press conference on Thursday, referring to the Digital Services Act, Europe’s rulebook for online content.

‘Romania is a warning bell: Radicalization and disinformation can happen all over Europe with harmful consequences’, added Hayer, an ally of French President Emmanuel Macron.”

MEP Hayer’s appeal comes two days after Georgescu’s shock victory, without a party backing him and with polls failing to detect his popularity.

The big loss in the first round of voting, Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said funding for Georgescu’s campaign on TikTok ‘needed to be reviewed.’

So far, there isn’t any proof of involvement by Russia or other state ‘bad actors.’

“’These highly speculative reports about the Romanian elections are inaccurate and misleading, as most candidates have established a TikTok presence and the winners campaigned on other digital platforms beyond ours’, TikTok spokesperson Paolo Ganino said.”

TikTok alleges to have set up an election center inside the app to provide reliable election information.

It also partnered with a local NGO ‘to boost digital literacy and counter disinformation’.
