The latest entry in the ‘Democrats Gone Wild’ series has dropped, and it is among the most insane yet.
As The New York Post reported, Kisha Skipper, a Democrat who is trying to unseat GOP Westchester County Legislator James Nolan, got into a wild and nasty brawl with his mother during a campaign event at the Beczak Environmental Center Wednesday night in Yonkers, New York.
Yonkers police say the brawl started during a break at the event, when Skipper got into an argument with a former campaign staffer.
Nolan’s mom, Donna, then decided to try to separate the two women. Police say she “sustained an abrasion to her lip.”
Then, Donna Nolan and Skipper began fighting.
After the brawl concluded, Donna Nolan was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
Skipper also appeared to sustain a significant injury. As The Post notes, she shared a Facebook post showing her wearing a sling on her arm at the hospital’s emergency room entrance.
Phone footage obtained by the New York Post shows numerous women going at each other at the restroom entrance. Several attendees were separating them at the event.
Skipper reportedly had been asked about questionable campaign donations during the debate. Instead of answering, she went to the restroom.
James Nolan posted his reaction to the fight on Instagram on Thursday and revealed more details, which showed his political opponent as the aggressor:
I am deeply disturbed and outraged by the violent altercation that took place last night at the Beczak Center involving my opponent and my mother.
The incident began when a woman who claims she is owed money questioned my opponent. After walking away from the confrontation, my opponent later argued with the same woman in the restroom.
My mother attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation. It wasn’t until the door was open and my opponent’s friends were behind her that she started to become violent. According to multiple eyewitnesses, my opponent then physically attacked my mother, repeatedly punching and scratching her, causing her to bleed from her face and arm.
Several witnesses have provided accounts of the incident, and cell phone recordings and surveillance footage are available for investigators to examine. Judgments should not be cast by anyone without knowledge of the situation and without having seen the evidence.
Per the Post, Yonkers police said that Skipper was released without charges but noted that the investigation was ongoing.
“At this time, the incident appears to have been precipitated from a personal matter and has not been determined to be politically motivated,” police said in a statement obtained by the Post. “Currently, no individuals are in police custody and no criminal charges have been filed against any party involved.”
