During a recent episode of his top-rated late-night show, Greg Gutfeld did a monologue about FOX News, their success, and why it drives the rest of the media absolutely bonkers.

Greg pointed out that FOX News often covers stories that are ignored by the liberal media, which goes out of its way to protect Democrats and whatever narrative that the left is pushing at the time.

FOX News lost more than a few Trump supporters after the 2020 election over its early call for Joe Biden in Arizona, but Gutfeld has remained popular despite all of that.

“The biggest thing Fox gave American media wasn’t just an alternative — what we gave the media was you, the audience, who then created something called competitive pressure.”

“For years now, Fox has been the highest-rated cable news network, often by a wide margin. And with an audience like that, it increases the cost of ignoring important stories. Because if Fox is willing to cover something that everyone else refuses to, millions of people are still gonna hear about it.”

“And eventually, the other guys have to join us, or their biases become even more transparent, their lies become obvious. Look at the border. For years, the numbers on border encounters, gotaways, repeat crossings, and crimes committed by illegals were public, yet the national press avoided the subject the way Kamala Harris avoids O’Doul’s.”

“And they framed any attention to those stats or lax border enforcement or victims of illegal crime as xenophobic. Meanwhile, Fox led with the monthly numbers. We sent our guys down there, showed people the story the others thought beneath them. People paid attention, spoke up. And that put more pressure on the media than Chris Christie’s Spanx after Thanksgiving.”

“Then there’s government fraud, COVID relief theft, Medicare scams — billions of dollars, sometimes tied to immigrant networks. Those facts cut against preferred narratives, so they were buried.. But our persistent coverage raised the cost of ignoring them. Same with crime.”
