Pilots from the US Navy’s elite Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron conducted a breathtaking flyover at Pensacola Beach in Florida on Wednesday, which is now under review after the jets buzzed over the beach at low altitude, sending beach chairs and other objects flying.

The Blue Angels said the jets were flying “lower than standard profiles,” describing the epic sight as a “disturbance.”

But video from the beach shows exuberant beachgoers reveling in the incredible moment, cheering, and even jumping up and down as the unforgettable flyover happens just feet above their heads.

The incident is now under investigation by Blue Angels officials.

“The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, is aware of social media footage showing a low-altitude pass by a team aircraft over Pensacola Beach earlier today,” the Blue Angels said in a statement, as first reported by WEAR News.

“During an arrival maneuver, an aircraft flew lower than standard profiles, resulting in a disturbance on the beach that affected civilian chairs and umbrellas.”

The statement continued, “The safety of our hometown community, spectators, and our pilots is our highest priority. Team leadership is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the maneuver and conducting a thorough safety review to ensure all operations adhere to strict Navy and FAA safety standards.”

Beachgoers didn’t seem too upset about the flyover, however. Though chairs, tents, and hats went flying, spectators could be heard screaming joyfully as the Blue Angels flew right over them.

“I’ve been coming for ten years, and I’ve never seen a pass like that in my life. I literally thought we were gonna be taken out by Blue Angels, but it was amazing! That’s exactly how I want to go if it happens,” one woman told ABC affiliate WEAR News.

Another woman said, “All of our tents got knocked down, all of our legs got bent… it was worth it. It was awesome!” A young boy added, “I’m going to remember that for probably the rest of my life.”

A young girl in the group described it as “thrilling,” adding that it wasn’t what she expected to see.

More from ABC 3 News:

No injuries have been reported.

This comes after South Carolina Army National Guard pilots were reportedly suspended without explanation after flying low over South Carolina beaches and giving beachgoers an unforgettable sight, the Gateway Pundit reported.

However, as word of the suspension went viral last week, War Secretary Pete Hegseth chimed in, vowing to “fix this.”

Hours later, Chief Pentagon Spokesman and Hegseth Senior Advisor Sean Parnell announced, “Effective immediately, the suspension of all involved South Carolina pilots has been lifted.”
