President Trump threatened to withdraw troops from Europe if they don’t make a deal with the United States on Greenland, as the President renews his focus on acquiring the Arctic island.
Trump has been attacking NATO allies in Europe since they rebuffed his demands to help secure the Strait of Hormuz and instead urged the United States to end the war. Some completely barred the US from using their bases during the Iran conflict. He has called the alliance a “paper tiger” on numerous occasions since they turned him down in March.
The President has since been considering pulling US troops out of Europe and even leaving the alliance altogether.
Earlier during the NATO summit in Turkey, Trump suggested he might draw down US military presence in Europe, describing himself as “very disappointed with NATO.”
“We’re going to see,” Trump said when a reporter asked whether troop drawdowns in Europe are likely, noting, “we’ve invested trillions of dollars in NATO.” He continued, “Why? To protect European countries and others,” noting that the help is unreciprocated.
When asked again after the NATO summit, Trump said it’s going to depend on a “good deal on Greenland.”
“A lot’s dependent on Iran,” he added, pointing to the lack of help from NATO allies at the beginning of the conflict. “When they had a chance, an opportunity to help, they chose not to, but we’re sort of forgetting about that. And now they want to help, they all want to go in, they want to help on Iran so badly, but we don’t really need help. It’s little things, but we don’t really need help,” he said.

Reporter: Are you going to pull more US troops out of Europe? And if so, how many, and where specifically?
Trump: I haven’t made that final determination. A lot’s going to depend on Greenland, and a lot, a lot, you know, gotta make a very good deal on Greenland, and if we don’t, maybe I will, and a lot’s dependent on Iran. I mean, they want to help now, you know, it’s a little late. I think, essentially, there’s not that much fighting to be done, but some will depend on Iran, you know?

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, Trump went off on NATO allies over their refusal to help with Iran, as well as their refusal to make a deal for the United States to acquire Greenland.
Trump steamrolled NATO Secretary Mark Rutte during a meeting this morning and laid out his demands on Greenland, forcing Rutte to grovel to the President.
