While America celebrated its 250th birthday this week, the wife of New York City’s radical Mayor Zohran Mamdani was nowhere to be found.
She was in Spain.
Rama Duwaji, the mayor’s Dallas-raised, Dubai-educated, Syrian-American artist wife, ditched the patriotic festivities and jetted off to a sold-out Islamic “spiritual wellness” retreat on the resort island of Mallorca.
Nice work if you can get it.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s wife Rama Duwaji ditched America’s 250th anniversary, jetting off this week for an Islamic “spiritual wellness” retreat on the Spanish resort island of Mallorca ahead of the patriotic celebration, The Post has learned.
The Dallas-raised, Dubai-educated, Syrian-American artist – who has a long history of bashing the US — was spotted at Newark International Airport on Monday, boarding an eight-hour flight to Palma, Mallorca’s capital city in the Western Mediterranean.
The 29-year-old illustrator and ceramist is the “artist in residence” for a for-profit outfit called The Women’s Sanctuary. She’s one of the hosts.
And it doesn’t come cheap.
According to the Post, the “Plants Of The Quran” retreat costs $3,400 per guest in US dollars. It began on Wednesday and runs through Monday, revolving around sacred flora mentioned in Islamic texts through art, botanical workshops, and spiritual reflection.
Duwaji isn’t done, either. The Post reports she’s scheduled to help host yet another sold-out retreat in Corsica, France, running July 9-14. That one is titled “Mary In The Quran.”
Meanwhile, back home, her husband was busy lecturing New Yorkers about turning down their air conditioning.
The New York Post reported that conservative commentator and comedian Arynne Wexler posted photos on X Friday of the mayor’s wife sitting at a United Airlines gate waiting to board her flight.
“Funny how when @ZohranKMamdani was telling New Yorkers to lower their AC his wife Rama Duwaji was boarding a flight to party in Mallorca.”
Wexler added that she couldn’t tag Duwaji because Duwaji deleted her account after what the Post described as “insanely offensive tweets were discovered.”
Deleted account. Long history of bashing America. An eight-hour flight to a luxury resort while lecturing regular New Yorkers about their thermostats.
This is who’s running the largest city in the country now.
