The Showdown in the Lone Star State, the Texas Senate primary runoff election, is today. The polls close at 8 Central.

This brutal runoff became necessary after neither candidate crossed the 50% threshold during the March primary. But what a difference a few weeks makes. The entire landscape of this race shattered just days ago when President Donald J. Trump officially threw his massive weight behind Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

On Sunday, President Trump put the final nail in the coffin of the establishment’s desperate campaign, blasting the ultimate RINO Senator, John Cornyn, as “VERY disloyal.” Trump urged a massive turnout for the America First champion, Ken Paxton, to purge the Senate of another backstabbing establishment hack.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, President Trump shifted the entire tectonic plates of Texas politics when he broke his neutrality to officially endorse Paxton last week. The MAGA faithful immediately responded to the call.

According to the latest SoCal Strategies poll conducted between May 20 and 21, just days after the bombshell Trump endorsement, Ken Paxton is completely dominating with a massive 21-point lead over Cornyn.

Even more devastating for the Cornyn campaign: Paxton is absolutely dominating in prediction markets and betting odds, with markets giving him a crushing 96%+ chance of victory.

Now, Cornyn is reportedly begging Democrats and left-wing moderates to cross over and sabotage the Republican primary runoff.

There’s no doubt that John Cornyn is reaching out to those who did not vote in the Republican primary or the Democratic primary, and he’s trying to reach out to Democrats, encouraging them to come vote for him.

One of the reasons he likes having open primaries—which I oppose—is that I believe we should have closed primaries, where only Republicans who have registered as Republicans can vote in the Republican primary, so Democrats cannot influence Republican primaries. John is reaching out to Democrats to try to get them to vote for him because he knows they are more sympathetic to him.”
