Iran is expected to agree to a 60-day memorandum of understanding that will ultimately end the war between the US and Iran if negotiated terms are met in the coming months.

It is now being reported that after Trump’s conference call with Gulf and Arab leaders on Saturday, which Trump announced was a success, Iran’s supreme leader has approved the deal, pending additional review from Iranian leadership.

Iran has reportedly also agreed in principle to dispose of highly enriched uranium.

Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and Special Peace Envoy Jared Kushner are currently involved in continued negotiations, CBS’s Jennifer Jacobs reports.

Per CBS’s Jennifer Jacobs:

BREAKING: US believes Iran’s supreme leader has approved the broad template for draft deal with Iran. Iran has agreed in principle that in exchange for the US lifting blockade, Iran will agree in principle to dispose of highly enriched uranium.

This draft has to make its way through the leadership system. But US wants them to commit to dispose of HMU and commit to resolve other nuclear issues. @VP, Witkoff, Kushner involved in negotiations. US trying to involve every middle eastern ally.

Fox’s Trey Yingst reported that while a senior administration official says the deal will not be signed today, progress has been made. The official confirmed that nuclear enrichment remains a red line, and “you don’t have a final deal” if Iran continues to enrich uranium.

Senior administration official says the Iran agreement will not be signed today, but indicated progress on a deal.

“If the Iranians make significant accommodations on the enrichment question then we will make significant accommodations on sanctions relief,” the official said.

On the nuclear issue, the current plan is to deal with the entire stockpile of enriched material.

“If you have a final deal where the Iranian are enriching, then you don’t have a final deal,” the official added.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced the “largely negotiated” framework on Saturday.

Included in the plan is a 60-day ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, concessions from Iran on nuclear enrichment, and Israel ending its offensive in Lebanon.

This comes after Trump held talks with Arab mediators, “concerning the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all things related to a Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to PEACE,” he said in a statement.
