A veteran NYPD captain has been yanked from his command and transferred to a desk job at a 911 call center after he was caught on video telling the truth about far-left New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani while in uniform.
Capt. James G. Wilson, 51, was serving as the second-in-command at the 94th Precinct in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, when his viral rant was recorded during an anti-ICE protest outside Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Bushwick on May 2.
In the now-viral clip, Wilson sparred with protesters and unloaded on the mayor.
“He’s expendable, he’s temporary,” Wilson says.
When the far-left agitators declared that Mamdani was technically his boss, Wilson doubled down with a smile.
“Nah, he’s total nonsense. He’s an embarrassment and total nonsense. Not my mayor,” Wilson said.
Still smiling, he added that all Democrats are a “waste of human race.”

The NYPD moved quickly.
On Monday, Wilson was transferred to the department’s Communications Division at a 911 call center in the Bronx.
Wilson remains on active duty, but officials confirmed he is facing an internal disciplinary process for violating department rules that prohibit officers from publicly expressing personal political views while on duty.
Wilson, who joined the NYPD in 2006 and is approaching 20 years on the job, hung up on a New York Post reporter seeking comment.
The officer’s union, the Captains Endowment Association, declined to comment when contacted by the New York Daily News.
The mayor’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
