A major showdown is brewing between the Trump administration and the fake news media after Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr issued a stark warning to broadcast networks over misleading coverage of the escalating war with Iran.

Carr’s message came after President Donald Trump blasted mainstream media for intentionally deceptive reporting about the conflict, particularly headlines claiming that U.S. aircraft tankers had been significantly damaged during an Iranian strike.

According to Carr, broadcasters using America’s publicly owned airwaves have a legal obligation to operate in the public interest,” and outlets spreading what he described as hoaxes and news distortions” should expect consequences when their licenses come up for renewal.

Carr wrote on X:

“Broadcasters that are running hoaxes and news distortions – also known as the fake news – have a chance now to correct course before their license renewals come up.

The law is clear. Broadcasters must operate in the public interest, and they will lose their licenses if they do not.

And frankly, changing course is in their own business interests since trust in legacy media has now fallen to an all time low of just 9% and are ratings disasters.

The American people have subsidized broadcasters to the tune of billions of dollars by providing free access to the nation’s airwaves.

It is very important to bring trust back into media, which has earned itself the label of fake news.

When a political candidate is able to win a landslide election victory after in the face of hoaxes and distortions, there is something very wrong. It means the public has lost faith and confidence in the media. And we can’t allow that to happen.

Time for change!”

The radical left media, CNN, MS NOW, ABC, CBS, NBC, and their print partners like The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, have spent the entire Iran crisis acting as Iranian propagandists rather than American journalists.

They amplify Tehran’s talking points, downplay U.S. military strength, and desperately try to make President Trump look like he’s losing when, in reality, he’s crushing the mullahs and restoring peace through strength.

Below is a video of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasting the New York Times, accusing the outlet of betraying America with its latest reporting.

NY Post commentator Lydia Moynihan also wrote on X, “The job of the press is to be skeptical and ask questions… but what we’ve seen the last few weeks is politicians and members of the media seemingly rooting for us to fail in Iran because of antipathy to Trump.”
