The Telegraph reported:
“The man, named Brahim B by French media, attacked several officers shortly after 6pm local time on Friday, striking as they prepared for the daily ceremony to rekindle the flame on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The 48-year-old was shot three or four times in the chest and leg, sources said, before being transported to the Georges Pompidou European Hospital. He was later pronounced dead. No police officers were seriously injured.”

He was transferred from Belgium to France in 2015 to serve the rest of his sentence, and was released from prison on Dec 24, 2025.
The suspect was considered a potential security threat.
One police officer sustained minor knife wounds before another opened fire on the terrorist.
