House Oversight Chairman James Comer on Tuesday announced lawmakers will initiate contempt of Congress proceedings against Bill Clinton after he defied a subpoena to testify in the Epstein investigation.

Former President Bill Clinton was scheduled to appear for a closed-door deposition on Tuesday.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was set to appear for a closed-door deposition on Wednesday.

Bill Clinton was a no-show on Tuesday.

The Clintons claimed they already provided the Committee with all of the information they have on Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Later Tuesday, Comer said lawmakers are initiating contempt proceedings to hold Bill Clinton accountable.

“Oversight Committee Republicans and Democrats unanimously approved a subpoena for Bill Clinton as part of the Epstein investigation,” Comer said.

“After five months of good-faith negotiations, President Clinton has refused to comply,” Comer said.

“We are now initiating contempt of Congress proceedings,” Comer added.

Clinton’s lawyers told Politico that the House Oversight subpoenas are not enforceable because they are “not related to a valid legislative purpose,” and are therefore “invalid and legally unenforceable.”

Last month the Justice Department released a new batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex-trafficking cases.

The new trove of documents included never-before-seen photos of Bill Clinton in a hot tub, swimming with a mystery woman.

The individual’s face was redacted which means she is either a sex-trafficking victim and or a minor.
