Republican Matt Van Epps won his race handily for US Congress Tuesday night in Tennessee.

Republican Matt Van Epps (R-TN) won the special election on Tuesday in Tennessee’s 7th district by at least 6 points over far-left Democrat Aftyn Behn.

Van Epps is replacing Republican Mark Green who resigned in July to pursue a private sector business opportunity.

The race was called with 71% of the vote reporting.

Election results for December 2, 2025, showing Matt Van Epps leading with 53.3% of the vote, followed by Aftyn Behn and other candidates.

President Trump congratulated Van Epps.

“Congratulations to Matt Van Epps on his BIG Congressional WIN in the Great State of Tennessee. The Radical Left Democrats threw everything at him, including Millions of Dollars. Another great night for the Republican Party!!! President DJT,” Trump said on Truth Social.
