Michelle Obama is coming under fire for her tone deaf antics after posting a video of herself doing a photoshoot while her lowly helpers fix her clothes, hair, and makeup, just weeks after she appeared in a book tour interview, griping about her displeasure of having a “glam team” as First Lady.

Obama shared the following clip on Instagram on Friday:

But just a couple of weeks ago, Obama appeared in an ABC special with Robin Roberts to promote her memoir, “The Look,” where she grumbles about her wardrobe, hair, and makeup staff making her life so easy.

While the rest of us plebeians have to dress ourselves and don’t get extravagant vacations on Steven Spielberg’s $250 million yacht in the Italian Riviera, Michelle Obama moans about her time in the White House and how hard it was keeping up appearances.

“I was up for the public, and the days were long,” she complains, describing her “glam team” as not a luxury but a “necessity.”

Roberts obnoxiously interjected words of agreement and affirmation throughout Obama’s tirade about how difficult it was to be the First Lady.

Obama: I didn’t really have that choice as First Lady, right? Every day, every time I was up, as we called it, you know, I was up for the public, and the days were long. So as you mentioned, to save time, you know, having a glam team, a trifecta, it feels like a luxury, but it was a time necessity.

There’s absolutely no way that I would be able to do my hair and makeup and have clothes ready that fit, you know, because rare is the woman that can live off the rack, you know?

Now, to be fair, it can’t be very easy when a large portion of the country thinks she’s a man.

In another portion of the interview, she makes it about race, implying discriminatory beauty standards for black women. Obama says, “As women of color, the way our hair naturally grows out of our head, it’s beautiful, but if we struggle to make it look like the standard, that means we are spending thousands of hours and lots of money straightening out what is naturally curly hair and that takes hours out of your life.”

Have you ever heard First Lady Trump complain?

As Noted by the New York Post’s Miranda Devine,

Melania Trump would like a word. There was no grace in the daily savaging that President Trump’s wife was subjected to in her first term in the White House. There were invasive questions about her marriage designed to damage it, dirty gossip packaged as news, xenophobic attacks on her accent and Slovenian origins. Even her Christmas decorations were slammed as ugly and cold.

Despite being a successful international model who always dressed impeccably, and without complaint, she was never asked to grace the cover of Vogue, while far frumpier first ladies who dressed like sofas were lavishly showcased in the fashion mag two or three times each. No wonder she has retreated into herself in her husband’s second term.
